Practical spirituality

Laurence-Freeman

The Benedictine monk and meditation teacher Laurence Freeman will give on Saturday, the 25th November, a reading about practical spirituality with the title “Without the spiritual we cannot be sane”.

Freeman (London, 1951) became, after a short secular career, Benedictine. He is monk, priest and spiritual leader. As follower of John Main, he is director of the world community for Christian Meditation. Over the whole world he leads meditation groups. After that he is very active in inter-religious dialogues and also on world peace. He writes many books, of which “The Selfless Self” (Sprekende Stilte) is a best seller in the Netherlands.

In a time when one liners and confrontation have the upperhand in our society debate it is a relief to hear the simplicity of his speach, the silence, inner peace and needed mutual respect. The reading will be done in English.
